Pier Projects believes art to be a humanist enquiry. We commission and support artists to develop projects that interrogate relationships between contemporary art, the public realm and notions of ‘health’ in the broadest sense of the word. The affective nature of art, approaches to a mind/body connection and art as a form of health behaviour are all areas of concern. At present, our work is located in the town of Felixstowe, Suffolk and considers this context in our programming.
Pier Projects is formed by curator Natalie Pace and arts educator Louise Stratford and launched in 2016. Between us we share interests in endurance open-water swimming and running which informs our non-dualistic approaches to art and health respectively.
Pier Projects is a registered CIC, operating as a not-for-profit.
