Sierra Tango Foxtrot
Sierra Tango Foxtrot is a site-responsive sound installation set in the atmospheric tunnels of Landguard Fort. UK-based American artist Anna Brownsted has temporarily transformed several adjoining rooms into an immersive environment where the past collides with the present as time expands, contracts, and circles in on itself.
With references spanning socio-political histories, the charged architecture of the Fort itself and the artist’s own familial military connections, the installation features seating made from military sandbags and a collage of meditative soundscapes using local field recordings and archival broadcasts. Visitors are invited to sit, listen, and dwell within these ambient spaces.
03 August - 16 September
Landguard Fort, View Point Rd, Felixstowe IP11 3TW. Open daily 10 - 5pm. Standard admission charges apply.
Caroline wright and level two youth project
Caroline Wright is working with young people at Level Two Youth Project. Across a number of ‘studio days’, discussions and work will emerge that probes how people relate to where they live and to art objects. The work created - alongside insights of their working process- will be displayed in the Tourist Information Beach Hut on Felixstowe promenade in the Autumn.
